Overview

Pre-Exodus canon: Capital of the Dwendalian Empire, seat of the Cerberus Assembly’s power and the location of the Archive of the Knowing Mistress. One of the most powerful cities in Wildemount.

Status in Nuxan (1000 A.E.): The once great Dwendalian Empire has shrunk significantly under Bright Queen Caelestis Kryn’s expansion, now covering only the lands west of the Eisfus River. But Kryn pressure is only half the story of that decline: the Empire also fights a second front to its south, where The Bleed — the deadwalker curse advancing out of the drowned Menagerie Coast — grinds inland through its lands. A civilization that cannot fight two wars at once, the Dwendalian remnant spends the bulk of its strength holding that southern line, which is as much why it has shrunk as anything the Kryn have done. The Cobalt Veil cites reconstructing the Archive of the Knowing Mistress buried beneath the ruins of Rexxentrum as their central goal, implying the Archive’s destruction or burial in the intervening centuries.
