Apogee Solstice
Description
Pre-Exodus canon (843 P.D.): The celestial event at which Ludinus Da’leth and the Ruby Vanguard attempted to free Predathos from Ruidus, using a network of Aeormatons called Malleus Keys and the Quintessence Array — devices designed to shatter the Divine Gate at the moment of maximum planar alignment. Bells Hells were the primary force opposing and ultimately preventing the Vanguard’s plan.
The Apogee Solstice is the pivot point of Campaign Three and of this setting’s history. It is the year of the Exodus (0 A.E.), the year the gods chose to depart or accept mortality. What exactly happened in the hours and days between the Solstice event and the Exodus proper — the 843 PD meeting referenced in Bright Queen Caelestis Kryn’s and Vecna’s notes — is the theological question underlying every faction in HotOG.
The central ambiguity: Did the gods leave because they won (and chose to depart on their own terms via the Rites of Catatheosis), because they lost (and were forced out by Predathos’s influence, which was released rather than re-sealed), or because something else entirely happened at that meeting? Different factions in Nuxan have different answers. None of them have proof.
