Scrapper
Background — Homebrew for Heretics of the Old Gods
You dug it up. Whatever it is — arcanotech salvage, pre-Exodus architecture, things that were buried for reasons nobody living remembers — you’re the one who pulled it out of the ground. You worked the dig sites: long shifts, bad air, unstable structures, foremen who cared more about the extraction quota than whether you came back up. You know what it looks like when a tunnel is about to collapse and what it looks like when someone in charge knows and isn’t saying anything.
You probably worked under contract — Court-brokered, gang-managed, or independent crew. You learned early that the people who own the site never set foot in it, and that the only people you could actually count on were the ones down there with you.

You know how labor moves. When you enter a settlement with a working population — dig crews, factory floors, dockworkers, caravan handlers — you can find the people doing the actual work and get them talking within a day. Through this network you can learn current working conditions and who controls them, whether a workforce is organized or close to it, what grievances are live and which ones people are afraid to name, and who the troublemakers are — the ones management watches and the ones who watch back.
