Kraghammer
Overview
Ancestral home of Tal’Dorei’s dwarven people, carved into the Cliffkeep Mountains. Kraghammer was already famously inhospitable to outsiders before the Exodus — its dark, claustrophobic halls and the clans’ legendary insularity kept it effectively self-contained even during periods of continental cooperation.
Status in Nuxan (1000 A.E.): The Exodus deepened Kraghammer’s isolation. The loss of divine authority — particularly of the Allhammer, patron deity of dwarven craft and civilization — was a significant cultural wound, and the dwarven response was to turn further inward. Kraghammer participates nominally in the Tal’Dorei Council alliance but in practice operates as a fully autonomous state. It trades selectively, admits almost no outsiders, and has rebuffed Kryn missionary activity more successfully than most — partly through isolation, partly through the sheer defensibility of a mountain fortress. The Allhammer’s temples are maintained as historical sites rather than active places of worship. Dwarven spiritual practice has largely shifted toward ancestor veneration and craft tradition in the absence of a living god.
